Why don’t ships sink?

Ships do not sink, as they are subject to lifting force. This force depends on the density of the water. For example, in the sea, the density of water is greater than in the river (where the water is fresh), since it is salty.
We can say that ships do not sink yet because they are built with a special shape so that they do not sink.
