In the fifteenth-sixteenth centuries of our era, all the prerequisites for the beginning of the Great Geographical Discoveries (hereinafter, VGO) were formed in a number of Western European countries. Thus, sufficient astronomical, geographic and climatic knowledge has been accumulated. Lighter ships were invented, shipbuilding was actively developed and improved, a compass came into use, maps became more accurate, but, most importantly, high society was ready to provide sufficient funding to seafarers.
