Why exactly the events of 1688 (and not 1640-1660) were called the Glorious Revolution in England?

First, the negative reputation of the Cromwell government contributed to this. The republic was remembered for its harsh laws, the dictatorship of the Lord Protector, and the Irish and Scots hated Oliver Cromwell for genocide. The Stuart propaganda also played a role in denigrating the Commonwealth. Secondly, the first English revolution was accompanied by a civil war. The “Glorious Revolution” is considered a bloodless coup, although it does not include the uprisings of the Scottish Jacobites.
