Great Britain was the leader in the 19th century, it also had a reputation as the “factory of the world” due to its developed industry. By 1914, the United States had bypassed it, and Germany had achieved significant success. France followed. Since then, nothing has changed, France, both in 1914 and in 2018, is inferior to Germany in terms of economy.
