Why in some European states the population supported Napoleon’s troops?

Initially, this was due to the fact that for a long time Napoleon retained the aura of “savior of the republic” and defender of “Revolutionary ideals”, so many perceived him as a liberator from the feudal-monarchical order. The bourgeoisie, to which Napoleon promised to give significant concessions, provided enormous support to Napoleon. It was also sometimes connected with the desire to achieve national independence – the Poles supported Napoleon, hoping to free themselves from the power of the Prussian and Austrian monarchs.
