Why in the 1920s. called the decade of pacifism?

The twenties of the 20th century were called by historians the “era of pacifism” for a reason. This time was marked by the settlement of the forces and relations of the main players in world politics after the First World War. There was a struggle for the balance of power, serious contradictions were resolved not only between the countries that won the war and opponents, but also within the coalition itself, especially between France and England (different positions on Germany and the payment of reparations by it). As a result, in 1925 an agreement was signed in Locarno. Since the countries managed to resolve the main “acute” contradictions peacefully, this term has become entrenched in world history.
