Why is a map better than a globe?

A map is better than a globe because: a) it is more convenient to use while traveling b) you can depict a small area of the earth’s surface. The card can be compactly folded or rolled up into a tube of whatever size it is, which is very convenient when traveling, as well as during storage. You can store a large number of cards in a pile indoors; you can’t hide globes like that. There are countless maps of individual parcels of land, of different scales and for different purposes.
