Why is a protein molecule a heteropolymer?

A protein molecule consists of many amino acid residues. If all the amino acids in the protein were identical, then such a compound would be called “homopolymer” (homo means the same). However, all amino acids in the polypeptide chain are different (have a different structure), so proteins are heteropolymers.
