Why is citizen assistance important to the police?

Because the police and citizens must be in continuous interaction with each other. It is the police that should perform the function of protecting citizens, but citizens should not be idle, but help the police case in every possible way. For example, help in catching a fleeing thief (if this, of course, does not threaten the life of a citizen) or simply call the police when you see that a crime is being committed nearby.
