Why is January the coldest month in the Northern Hemisphere and July in the Southern Hemisphere

In the Northern Hemisphere, the lowest angle of incidence of sunlight is in January, therefore this month is the coldest. The southern hemisphere receives the least amount of heat in July, so this month is also the coldest.
