Why is the explosion of a projectile under water destructive for organisms living in water?

When an explosion occurs under water, an area of increased pressure is created in the water. As we know, water is much denser than air, and the pressure cannot just disappear. Let us remind ourselves what Pascal’s law says? It is true that the pressure diverges in all directions at a tremendous speed. Water, being denser, cannot dissipate pressure just like that. This creates sound waves for which fish are not designed. And the fish that are close to the epicenter of the explosion die.
