Why is the facial region of the skull more developed in monkeys than in humans?

Evolution has changed the appearance of man, but in the distant past, man looked more like a monkey. The fact is that ancient man had an extremely developed jaw – in order to chew solid food and meat. But after a person learned to make fire, the food became softer and the need for strong and large teeth disappeared. The jaw has become smaller, and with this, the size of the facial region has changed.
