Why is the highest peak of the continent of Africa – the volcano Kilimendzharo

Why is the highest peak of the continent of Africa – the volcano Kilimendzharo – located on a platform, and not in a folded region where volcanoes are usually located?

Volcano Kilimanjaro was formed at the site of a fault in the continental crust. The ancient lithospheric plate on which Africa is located is divided into two parts. In places of such faults, magma from the depths is thrown out under enormous pressure, forming high volcanoes. This is what explains the fact that in the central part of Africa, in addition to Kilimanjaro, there are dozens of other volcanoes, some of which are still active. And there are no high folded areas in Africa, since this continent did not collide with other lithospheric and echplites.
