Why is the invention of printing considered one of the greatest discoveries in human history?

For a very long time, human memory served as the main way of storing information, skills, experience. Therefore, all knowledge was passed from one person to another, from generation to generation, using language, that is, orally. The true information could be distorted, or completely forgotten. Of course, there was also writing in the form of inscriptions on scrolls, but it was only the invention of printing that gave impetus to information progress. Typography can rightfully be considered a great human invention, which determined the whole course of history, the development of civilization as a whole.
