Why is the problem of human origins linked to the study of primate evolution? List the lower and higher primates.

The evolutionary lineages leading to humans and chimpanzees split (according to molecular data) about 5.5 – 6.5 million years ago (or, perhaps, somewhat earlier – up to 8 million years). The “human” line, or family Hominidae, is characterized by the most important common feature – bipedalism (walking on two legs). It is clear that the transition to bipedal walking was associated with significant changes in the way of life. Therefore, the emergence of a new family Hominidae is at the same time the formation of a new adaptive zones.
