Why is the snow cold?

Snow forms in the upper atmosphere, where the temperature is much lower than the temperature below, above the earth’s surface. Forming there, water droplets crystallize into snowflakes, in other words, into snow, and in this state they reach the ground, remaining cold. Further, based on the weather on the ground, the snow either remains on it in a cold state or melts.
