Why is there a revival of folk crafts in the second half of the 19th century?

First, you need to remember what happened in the second half of the 19th century. This period is characteristic of one of the most important events of that time – the abolition of serfdom. The peasants received freedom and they had to somehow live on. This was due to the development of folk crafts. But there was no significant rise. The point is that the imperfection of the law and control led to the emergence of a small group of very rich peasants – kulaks and a huge number of poor – farm laborers. So the rise was very insignificant.
