Why should a truck have stronger brakes than a passenger car?

Any body in motion has such a property as inertia. Inertia is the ability of a body to resist changes in its movement or speed. Inertia is associated with a velocity impulse: the greater the velocity impulse, the higher the body’s inertia will be. Since the impulse of speed is determined by the formula: p = m * v, it can be seen that the greater the mass of the body, the greater its impulse, the more it will resist changing its movement. Since the mass of a truck is much greater than that of a passenger car, it must have more powerful brakes.
