Why should the system be holistic?

A system is a complex interaction of many elements. If one of the elements of the system is violated, then this will entail disruption of the operation of all other elements and the system as a whole.
Example: If the integrity of the cell membrane is violated, then the transport of substances in the cell will be disturbed, the transport of substances will affect the synthesis of proteins, without normal synthesis of proteins the cell will die.
