Why shouldn’t batteries be thrown into the trash?

Each of us is already accustomed to the fact that batteries are needed constantly when using many devices at home and not only. But few people thought about what happens to them if they are thrown out with ordinary trash. A poisonous liquid flows out of the discarded batteries, which, when it gets into the soil, destroys all vegetation on it. Getting into the water, they strongly pollute it. These substances are very toxic and hazardous to the environment and to all living things. Therefore, all used batteries should only be disposed of in special containers.
