Why was the expulsion of the Moors and Jews from Spain a disaster for the country?

The main value of any state is the able-bodied population. That is why any mass deportation (expulsion) of adult citizens who are able to work, pay taxes and, thereby, actually support the state is an unacceptable fact, leading to a decrease in economic stability, a decline in production, and a decrease in the birth rate. In addition, the Jews played the role of financiers, usurers, bankers in the state, and their expulsion hit the economy.
