Why was there a struggle between Louis 11 and Charles the Bold?

Charles the Bold was the Duke of Burgundy, who in every possible way tried to preserve its independence from royal attacks on his lands. Louis XI clearly did not agree with the independence of Burgundy, therefore he tried to subjugate these lands to himself by the most sophisticated methods. Having suffered defeat in an open struggle, the king did not give up and resorted to not the most beautiful method: he set his former allies against Charles the Bold. Thus, Karl the Bold died, and the lands were captured.
