Why will a shark sink to the bottom if it stops moving its body and fins?

The superclass of fish includes 2 classes:
cartilaginous and bony fish.
Cartilaginous fish are older than bony fish, therefore they have a more primitive structure.
The shark belongs to the class of cartilaginous fish.
They have a cartilaginous skeleton, fins are paired and arranged horizontally, primitive (placoid) scales, and no swim bladder.
It is because of the lack of a swim bladder that the shark must constantly move in order to stay in the water column.
