With strong emotions, a person may blush or turn pale. Why does the skin color change? In what situations do you blush? In what situations do you turn pale?

Our skin is permeated through and through with the smallest vessels – capillaries. Depending on the mental state of a person, on the temperature of our body, the weather around us, these vessels expand or become narrow. When a person is nervous and angry, a certain part of the nervous system begins to work actively. It makes the capillaries wider – and the surface of the skin becomes reddish. If a person is agitated and frightened, the opposite part of the nerves is activated – the vessels become very narrow, and the skin is light or pale.
