David became famous for defeating the giant Goliath as a teenager. When the armies of King Saul and the Philistines met on the battlefield, Goliath appeared in front of the Israelites wearing a copper helmet, scale armor, shield and spear. Nobody, except David, dared to enter into single combat with him. At the same time, David did not give the impression of a strong man. He had a sling in his hands, with which they threw small stones. David told Goliath: “You go against me with a sword, spear and shield, and I go against you in the name of the God of the armies of Israel.” The teenager threw a stone from a sling. The stone hit the giant in the forehead and struck him to death. The Philistines, seeing the death of their leader, fled.
