| The linear function that goes through the origin is given by the formula:
y = k * x.
We know that this function passes through point A (-5; 2). Substitute in the formula y = k * x instead of the variable x the number (-5) and instead of the variable y, substitute the number 2 and get the equation:
2 = k * (-5) (in order to find an unknown factor, you need to divide the product by a known factor);
k = 2: (-5);
k = -2/5.
Answer: y – -2 / 5x.
