Write down the equation of the chemical reaction: Fe- FeO- FeCl2- Fe (HO) 2- FeSO4- Fe (NO3) 2

In order to produce all the reactions of the homologous series presented in the task, we need to carry out five chemical reactions.

1) Interaction of iron and sulfuric acid. The desired ferrous sulfate salt is formed and hydrogen gas is released.

Fe + H2SO4 = FeSO4 + H2 ↑

2) Take the ferrous sulfate salt and add sodium hydroxide to it. Iron hydroxide is formed, which precipitates and sodium sulfate salt.

FeSO4 + 2NaOH = Fe (OH) 2 ↓ + Na2SO4

3) The reaction of decomposition of iron hydroxide under the influence of temperature, since this substance is insoluble in water, and only in this way can further transformations be carried out. Decomposes to iron oxide and water.

Fe (OH) 2 ↓ = FeO + H2O

4) The reaction takes place between substances such as iron oxide and hydrogen. Iron and water are formed.

FeO + H2 ↑ = Fe + H2O

5) Iron reacts with hydrochloric acid and forms an iron chloride salt and hydrogen gas is released.

Fe + 2HCl = FeCl2 + H2 ↑.
