Write down the expression for the perimeter of the triangle ABC and simplify it if AB = x cm BC = 5 cm more than AB and AC 3 cm less than BC.
Let us write, according to the condition for expressing the sides of the triangle ABC, as well as the perimeter of the triangle ABC:
AB = x (cm);
BC = x + 5 (cm);
AC = x + 5 – 3 (cm);
P (ABC) = x + x + 5 + x + 5 – 3 = 3x + 7 (cm).
