Write down the formula for the volume of a rectangular parallelepiped. Calculate the unknown length of the edge of a rectangular parallelepiped if its volume is 75 cm3, and the lengths of its other edges are 5 cm and 6 cm.
In order to solve this task, we will use the formula for the volume of a parallelepiped, we have:
V = a * b * c, where a, b, c are the edges of the parallelepiped. We know two edges, and the last one is denoted by x.
V = 5 * 6 * x = 75 (by condition).
X = 75/30 = 2.5 cm – the desired side.
Answer: 2.5 cm rib.
