1) Acetic acid ethyl ester reacts with water to form ethanol and acetic acid:

CH3COOC2H5 + H2O → C2H5OH + CH3COOH;

2) Ethanol reacts with copper (II) oxide, it turns out – ethanal, pure copper and water:

C2H5OH + CuO → CH3COH + Cu + H2O;

3) Ethanal interacts with copper (II) hydroxide, it turns out – acetic acid, copper (I) oxide and water:

CH3COH + 2Cu (OH) 2 → CH3COOH + Cu2O + 2H2O;

4) Acetic acid reacts with ethylene glycol, and = in the course of this reaction is formed – isopropyl ester of acetic acid and water:

CH3COOH + C2H4 (OH) 2 → CH3COOCH (CH3) 2 + H2O.
