| Write down the reaction equation for the interaction of acetic acid with magnesium and an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate.
Explanation for drawing up the equations of chemical reactions:
1. Reaction of acetic acid (CH3COOH) with metallic magnesium (Mg) to form magnesium acetate (Mg (CH3COO) 2) and hydrogen:
Mg + 2CH3COOH = Mg (CH3COO) 2 + H2.
2. Reaction of acetic acid (CH3COOH) with an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) to form sodium acetate (CH3COONa), carbon dioxide and water:
2CH3COOH + Na2CO3 = 2CH3COONa + H2O + CO2.
