Write down the reaction equations according to the scheme: zinc → zinc sulfate → zinc nitrate →
Write down the reaction equations according to the scheme: zinc → zinc sulfate → zinc nitrate → zinc hydroxide → zinc chloride → zinc carbonate
Let’s compose a homologous chain of substances given to us in the task: Zn – ZnSO4 – Zn (NO3) 2 – Zn (OH) 2 – ZnCl2 – ZnCO3. In order to realize this homological series, we will need to perform five reactions.
First reaction of zinc and sulfuric acid. Zinc sulfate salt is formed and hydrogen is evolved.
Zn + H2SO4 = ZnSO4 + H2,
The second reaction, we take the obtained zinc sulfate salt and add the zinc nitrate salt and get the barium nitrate salt and the barium sulfate salt, since this reaction takes place according to the type of exchange.
ZnSO4 + Ba (NO3) 2 = Zn (NO3) 2 + BaSO4
The third reaction of obtaining zinc hydroxide from a salt of zinc nitrate and sodium hydroxide.
Zn (NO3) 2 + 2 NaOH = 2 NaNO3 + Zn (OH) 2
The fourth interaction of zinc hydroxide and hydrochloric acid. We get zinc chloride salt and water is released.
Zn (OH) 2 + 2 HCl = ZnCl2 + 2 H2O,
And the last reaction is to obtain zinc carbonate salt from zinc chloride and calcium carbonate.
ZnCl2 + CaCO3 = CaCl2 + ZnCO3.
