| Let us write down the equations of the corresponding reactions:
1. Aluminum oxide, when interacting with a hydrochloric acid solution, gives aluminum chloride and water:
Al2O3 + 6 HCl = 2 AlCl3 + 3 H2O
2. The formed aluminum chloride reacts with ammonium hydroxide to form aluminum hydroxide, which precipitates in the form of a transparent gelatinous precipitate:
AlCl3 + 3 NH4OH = Al (OH) 3 + 3 NH4Cl
3. Aluminum hydroxide undergoes thermal decomposition at a temperature of 575 degrees and above. Decomposes into hydrogen oxide and water:
2 Al (OH) 3 = Al2O3 + 3 H2O
