In order to carry out the entire chain of transformations, we need to carry out five chemical reactions.

The first reaction, the production of carbon dioxide from carbon monoxide and oxygen. Compound reaction. We write this equation like this:

CO + O2 = CO2

The second reaction is the formation of a calcium carbonate salt from tetravalent carbon monoxide and calcium oxide. The reaction proceeds as a compound.

CO2 + CaO = CaCO3

The third reaction is between calcium carbonate salt and calcium carbonate. Calcium bicarbonate is formed. It is also a compound reaction.

CaCO3 + HCO3 = Ca (HCO3) 2

Further in the row, calcium bicarbonate decomposes into calcium carbonate and water. This is a decomposition reaction.

Ca (HCO3) 2 = CaCO3 + H2O.
