С2Н4 + Н2О = С2Н5ОН – hydration, ethyl alcohol was obtained;
С2Н5ОН + CuO = CH3 – COH + Cu + H2O – oxidation of alcohol with copper oxide when heated, acetaldehyde and copper were formed;
СН3 – СОН + Cu (OH) 2 = CH3COOH + Cu2O + 2H2O – qualitative reaction for aldehyde, acetic acid was obtained;
CH3COOH + C2H5OH = CH3COO – C2H5 + H2O – esterification occurs when heated in the presence of sulfuric acid as a dehydrating agent, ethyl acetate is formed;
