| Write the equation of the reaction between solutions of hydrogen sulfide and potassium hydroxide. Write for it the complete and abbreviated ion-molecular equations.
1) Hydrogen sulfide, when dissolved in water, forms dibasic hydrosulfuric acid. when an acid interacts with an insufficient amount of alkali, an acid salt is formed – potassium hydrosulfide:
H2S + KOH = KHS + H2O
2 H ^ (+) + S ^ (2-) + K ^ (+) + OH ^ (-) = K ^ (+) + HS ^ (-) + H2O
2 H ^ (+) + S ^ (2-) + OH ^ (-) = HS ^ (-) + H2O
2) With an excess of alkali, an average salt is formed – potassium sulfide:
H2S + 2 KOH = K2S + 2 H2O
2 H ^ (+) + S ^ (2-) + 2 К ^ (+) + 2OH ^ (-) = 2 К ^ (+) + S ^ (2-) + 2 H2O
2 H ^ (+) + 2 OH ^ (-) = 2 H2O
H ^ (+) + OH ^ (-) = H2O
