Write the reaction equation: Al – Al2O3 – Al2 (SO4) 3 – Al (OH) – Al2O3

Solution of the task:
1. Interaction of aluminum with oxygen with the formation of aluminum oxide:
4Al + 3O2 = 2Al2O3;
2. Interaction of aluminum oxide with sulfuric acid. Aluminum sulfate and water are formed:
Al2O3 + 3H2SO4 = Al2 (SO4) 3 + 3H2O;
3. The interaction of aluminum sulfate with sodium hydroxide with the formation of insoluble aluminum hydroxide and Na2SO4:
Al2 (SO4) 3 + 6NaOH = 2Al (OH) 3 + 3Na2SO4;
4. Thermal decomposition of aluminum hydroxide with the formation of aluminum oxide and water:
2Al (OH) 3 = Al2O3 + 3H2O.
