1) We get SO2 from CaCO3 in two stages:
CaCO3 + H2SO3 → CaSO3 + H2CO3 (exchange reaction);
CaSO3 + 2HCl → SO2 + CaCl2 + H2O (exchange reaction);
2) 2SO2 + O2 → 2SO3 (compound reaction);
3) BaO + SO3 → BaSO4 (compound reaction).
