Write the reaction equation: C2H5OH-CH3COH-CH3COOH-CH3COOC2H5 C2H2-C6H6-C6H5Br-C6H5OH
A) 1) To obtain acetaldehyde from ethyl alcohol, it is necessary to add copper (II) oxide to it:
C2H5OH + CuO → CH3COH + Cu + H2O;
2) Acetic aldehyde reacts with silver oxide, in the process of the above reaction it turns out – acetic acid and pure silver:
CH3COH + Ag2O → CH3COOH + 2Ag;
3) When acetic acid reacts with ethanol, ethyl acetate and water are formed:
CH3COOH + C2H5OH → CH3COOC2H5 + H2O.
B) 1) Benzene is obtained from three acetylene molecules:
3C2H2 → C6H6;
2) Benzene reacts with bromine, we get bromobenzene and hydrogen bromide:
C6H6 + Br2 → C6H5Br + HBr;
3) Bromobenzene reacts with potassium hydroxide, during this reaction phenol (another name is hydroxybenzene, carbolic acid) and potassium bromide are formed:
C6H5Br + KOH → C6H5OH + KBr.
