| 1) Copper oxide reacts with sulfuric acid, during which we observe the formation of copper sulfate and water:
CuO + H2SO4 → CuSO4 + H2O;
2) When copper sulfate and barium hydroxide react, precipitates of barium sulfate and copper hydroxide are formed:
CuSO4 + Ba (OH) 2 → BaSO4 ↓ + Cu (OH) 2 ↓;
3) To obtain copper chloride from copper oxide, it is necessary to add hydrochloric acid to the oxide:
CuO + 2HCl → CuCl2 + H2O;
4) As a result of the exchange reaction of copper chloride and sodium hydroxide, we get – sodium chloride and copper hydroxide:
CuCl2 + 2NaOH → 2NaCl + Cu (OH) 2 ↓;
5) When heated, copper hydroxide decomposes into copper oxide and water:
Cu (OH) 2 ↓ → CuO + H2O.
