Write the reaction equation: ethylene – ethanol – ethanal – acetic acid – aminoacetic acid

Chain of reactions:

Ethanol from ethylene is obtained by hydration (in an acidic medium when heated):
CH2 = CH2 + H2O → CH3 – CH3OH

Ethanal is obtained by oxidation with potassium permanganate in a neutral medium:
3С2H5OH + 2КMnO4 → 3CH3COH + 2MnO2 ↓ + 2KOH + 2H2O

Copper Mirror reaction – oxidation of ethanal to acid (when heated):
CH3COH + 2Сu (OH) 2 → CH3COOH + Cu2O ↓ + 2H2O

Aminoacetic acid from acetic acid can be obtained in 2 stages:
Radical chlorination in the light:

CH3COOH + Cl2 → CH2 (Cl) – COOH + HCl

Substitution of chlorine for amino group:

CH2 (Cl) – COOH + NH3 → CH2 (NH2) COOH + HCl
