Write the reaction equation: Fe- Fe2O3- Fe (NO3) 3- Fe (OH) 3 – Fe2O3 – Fe

1) Iron reacts with oxygen, and iron (III) oxide is formed:

4Fe + 3O2 → 2Fe2O3;

2) Iron (III) oxide reacts with nitric acid, it turns out – iron (III) nitrate and water:

Fe2O3 + 6HNO3 → 2Fe (NO3) 3 + 3H2O ↑;

3) Iron nitrate interacts with calcium hydroxide, we get ferum (III) hydroxide and calcium nitrate:

2Fe (NO3) 3 + 3Ca (OH) 2 → 2Fe (OH) 3 ↓ + 3Ca (NO3) 2;

4) Iron hydroxide decomposes into iron (III) oxide and water:

2Fe (OH) 3 ↓ → Fe2O3 + 3H2O;

5) Iron (III) oxide reacts with hydrogen, forms – iron and water:

Fe2O3 + 3H2 ↑ → 2Fe + 3H2O.
