1) 2Fe (OH) 3 = Fe2O3 + 3H2O (when heated, iron hydroxide decomposes into iron oxide and water, decomposition reaction);
2) Fe2O3 + 6HCl = 2FeCl3 + 3H2O (when iron oxide interacts with hydrochloric acid, ferric chloride and water are formed, an exchange reaction);
3) FeCl3 + 3KOH = Fe (OH) 3 + 3KCl (when iron chloride interacts with potassium hydroxide, iron hydroxide and potassium chloride are formed, an exchange reaction).
