Write the reaction equation: FeO-FeSO4-Fe (OH) 2-Fe (NO3) 2

1. Add sulfuric acid to the iron oxide powder, heat it a little. A light yellow solution is formed – iron (II) sulfate, water droplets appear on the walls of the test tube.

2. To the resulting solution of iron (II) sulfate, add alkali – sodium hydroxide, a greenish precipitate (iron (II) hydroxide) precipitates. The solution can be filtered, the precipitate can be separated from sodium sulfate.

3. Add nitric acid to the resulting precipitate. The precipitate will dissolve, forming iron nitrate and water.
