Write the reaction equation: H2S → SO2 → SO3 → K2SO4

To carry out the above chain of transformations, we need to carry out three reactions. The first is the reaction of interaction between hydrogen sulfide and ozone. Tetravalent sulfur oxide is formed and water is released.

H2S + O3 = SO2 + H2O

The second reaction is a reaction between tetravalent sulfur oxide and ozone. Hexavalent sulfur oxide is formed and oxygen is released.

SO2 + O3 = SO3 + O2

The third reaction is the reaction of the combination of hexavalent sulfur oxide and potassium oxide. The potassium sulfate salt is formed.

SO3 + K2O = K2SO4.
