Write the reaction equation: Methane – acetylene – acetaldehyde – ethanol – chloroethane – butane

| 1) When exposed to temperature, methane decomposes into acetylene and hydrogen:
2CH4 → C2H2 + 4H2 ↑;
2) To get acetaldehyde from acetylene, you need to add water:
C2H2 + H2O → CH3CHO;
3) Hydrogen is added to acetaldehyde to obtain ethanol:
CH3CHO + H2 → C2H5OH;
4) When ethanol interacts with hydrochloric acid, we observe the formation of chloroethane with butane:
C2H5OH + HCl → C2H5Cl + H2O;
5) Chloroethane reacts with metallic sodium to form butane and sodium chloride:
2C2H5Cl + 2Na → C4H10 + 2NaCl.
