1) In the process of interaction of nitrogen with oxygen, we obtain nitrogen oxide (II):

N2 + O2 → 2NO (compound reaction);

2) To obtain nitrogen oxide (IV), it is necessary that nitrogen oxide (II) reacts with oxygen:

2NO + O2 → 2NO2 (compound reaction);

3) 3NO2 + H2O → 2HNO3 + NO (substitution reaction; nitric oxide (IV), water, nitric acid; nitric oxide (II));

4) HNO3 + NaOH → NaNO3 + H2O (exchange reaction; nitric acid, sodium hydroxide, sodium nitrate, water).
