1. The reaction of sodium oxide with water, with the formation of sodium hydroxide:
Na2O + H2O = 2NaOH.
2. Formation of acid salt – sodium hydrogen sulfate, acid plus alkali:
NaOH + H2SO4 = NaHSO4 + H2O.
3. Formation of sodium sulfate, displacement of hydrogen by alkali.
NaHSO4 + NaOH = Na2SO4 + H2O.
