Let’s carry out the solution of the chain of transformations for organic substances:
CH4 = C2H2 + 3H2 – cracking of methane, the decomposition reaction occurs at a temperature of 300 degrees, acetylene is released;
3C2H2 = C6H6 – benzene was obtained from acetylene in the course of the trimerization reaction;
С6Н6 + Cl2 = C6H5Cl + HCl – benzene chloride was formed.
The composed reactions indicate a connection between unsaturated and aromatic hydrocarbons. The substances obtained in the reactions find practical application, for example, benzene chloride is used in the production of dyes.
