# Write the reaction equations according to the scheme: Ba- BaO- Ba (OH) 2- BaSO4

To carry out the above chain of transformations, we need to perform four reactions:

First, we add oxygen to barium, as a result of the reaction, we get barium oxide.

2 Ba + O2 = 2 BaO

Second, we add water to barium oxide, as a result of the reaction, barium hydroxide is formed.

BaO + H2O = Ba (OH) 2

Third, we add magnesium nitrate to barium hydroxide, as a result of the reaction we obtain barium nitrate and magnesium hydroxide.

Ba (OH) 2 + Mg (NO3) 2 = Ba (NO3) 2 + Mg (OH) 2

Fourth, we add potassium sulfate to barium nitrate and, as a result of the substitution reaction, we obtain barium sulfate and potassium nitrate.

Ba (NO3) 2 + K2SO4 = BaSO4 + 2 KNO3
